Cosmetologists
Licensing Requirements
Any individual wishing to obtain a license of cosmetology in Wyoming, shall meet the following qualifications:
- The applicant is at least 16 years of age;

- The applicant must graduate from a program of 1,600 hours from a school;
- The applicant shall take and pass a theory and practical examination;
- Upon, passing the applicant shall have paid the required fees.
Continuing Education Requirements
There are no continuing education requirements. The first issuance of a license expires 1 year from the month of acquisition. After that licenses will expire every 2 years on the month of the holder’s birth date.

License Reciprocity Availability and Requirements
To obtain a license in Wyoming based on holding a current valid license from another state, country, or jurisdiction, an applicant must be licensed through Endorsement. The following qualifications shall have been met:

- Must have met the Wyoming required hours for licensure;
- If you have less than our required hours, you will need to prove proof of at least one 1 year work experience in your field;

- No more than 100 hours may be acquired through distance learning;

Hair Stylists

Make-up Artists
Make-up Artists are licensed under Esthetics and Cosmetology.
Licensing of Mobile Cosmetology Services
Mobile Cosmetology Salons are not licensed in Wyoming.
High School Cosmetology Programs
Cosmetology schools in Wyoming must be postsecondary institutions.
